Stern Action Awaits All Free Education System ‘Saboteurs’

It will also take stern measures against head teachers, headmasters and headmistresses of public schools who will request students to contribute to any service they offer, reiterating that the government will cover all expenses in public schools.

Addressing a well-attended public rally at the Likangala Grounds in Ruangwa District, Lindi Region, the Prime Minister, Mr Kassim Majaliwa, said that anyone who would misuse or embezzle development funds will face the music.

“We’ll take to task anyone who will touch this money and misuse or embezzle it. We have already directed the district executive directors and Education Officers and cautioned them over the use of such money,” Mr Majaliwa stated. According to him, the government has already set aside 137bn/- for provision of free education starting January to June next year.

“The boil squeezing (fight against corruption and embezzlement of funds) call have has paid dividends as we have collected enough money to facilitate free education as promised by President John Magufuli. We have the money, which we have already disbursed. We want students/pupils to benefit from this programme from next January,” the Premier pledged amid thundering applause.
